It is incompatible with some of the recent V10 sync improvements and Bending Spoons is having to maintain workarounds to keep Legacy still going, and at some point they will just stop. However, it's clear Legacy's days are numbered.

From their perspective, you are upgrading to the latest 10.whatever and in the process they are deleting old versions, which includes your previous 10.somethingearlier and Legacy. Evernote is becoming rather diningenuous in pushing Legacy users to upgrade to v10, and that includes dual-installs.
